How fuel injection work ?

Fuel injection is the method of mixing fuel and air that's used in virtually all newer model engines. Fuel injectors use electronic controls to spray precise amounts of fuel into the intake air. As the fuel is sprayed, it's atomized for more efficient ignition. Your car may be equipped with one of two types of fuel injection, throttle-body or multi-port. A throttle-body system uses one or two injectors to supply the fuel from a centralized location. With multi-port injection, each cylinder has its own single or pair of injectors. Most mechanics will agree that fuel injection is much better system than a carburetor for improved performance and fuel economy. If your car's equipped with fuel injection, it's important to use clean fuel and change the filter in your car regularly. This will help keep the fuel injectors clean and possibly add life to the system. Contact a qualified mechanic in your area for more information on fuel injection.
